With just eight healthy players available to play, Bol earned the start in the Nuggets’ first scrimmage game ahead to the season restart. Bol logged 32 minutes in the exhibition game and showed little rust throughout his time on the floor. Bol finished by shooting 6-of-14 from the field, including 2-of-8 from 3-point range. I first learned about Manute Bol from the gray-bordered NBA Hoops card I got in 1991. As an 9-year-old who would watch whatever Bulls and Nuggets games I could get on the small fuzzy TV in my room. Bol Bol Scrimmage Highlights 🔥 It finally happened, Nuggets fans. Here's a one-minute highlight reel from Bol Bol's 16-pt, six-blk game. Nuggets to sign Bol Bol to a standard, two-year NBA contract Denver will reportedly upgrade the contract of Bol from a two-way deal prior to the start of the 2020-21 season. NOVEMBER 24, 2020.
The best thing by far about NBA scrimmages ahead of the 2020 restart in the Orlando bubble was Bol Bol.

The former Oregon star and son of ex-NBA star Manute Bol was drafted 44th overall in the 2019 draft by the Miami Heat and traded to the Denver Nuggets. He didn’t play for the club at all until the scrimmages began in Disney World … and then he exploded.
Bol was part of the uber-tall lineup the Nuggets put together to open the scrimmages and he instantly became the darling of NBA Twitter as the 7-foot-2 center swatted shots, hit from distance and generally looked like a stud, including on Monday night in Denver’s final tune-up.
This is where I have to reel it all in. Despite the fact that Bol established that he’s got the kind of game that would be extremely valuable in an NBA rotation in the future, I’m not expecting him to star for the Nuggets in the postseason.
For one, it was the warm-up to the restart, in games that didn’t matter. For another, the Nuggets are super-deep as it is without Bol. Coach Mike Malone has to find frontcourt minutes for Nikola Jokic, Paul Millsap, Jerami Grant, Mason Plumlee, Will Barton and Michael Porter Jr., the last of whom didn’t play a single minute in scrimmages until Monday night. When he did, he was so good:
I don’t foresee Malone giving significant minutes to a rookie in that crowded rotation, especially in the postseason. The good news is the Nuggets continue to find diamonds in the rough in the draft — they got Porter when he dropped all the way to 14th overall in 2018 and took Monte Morris in the second round of the 2017 draft — and Bol could develop into a good stretch forward if he can repeat this kind of performance in games that count.
Forced into action in large part because of the depleted bench of the Denver Nuggets — they have eight players who can take the court in the scrimmages, and seven of them are forwards — it has been the Bol Bol show in Orlando so far.
After a strong first game (16 points, 10 boards, 6 blocks), Bol bounced back and scored 15 on Saturday against New Orleans.

Will Bol Bol Play This Season
Bol has gifts that made him a top prospect out of high school. As Nuggets coach Mike Malone said, you can’t teach 7’2″ with a 7’9″ wingspan and a soft touch from three. After a couple of strong showings from Bol — as well as guard Troy Daniels — Malone was asked if they could play their way into the postseason rotation. Don’t bet on that happening.
Malone: 'It's hard to play 10, 11, 12 guys once the playoffs come around.' @HarrisonWind question pertained to Troy Daniels in the postseason rotation, but the answer obviously stands for any guys who might make a push, Bol Bol included.

Bol is flashing the potential that caught the eye of scouts, but he’s also still very raw and that shows in games as well. It’s to be expected after a foot injury sidelined him for an entire season, at least until the coronavirus pushed the end of the season back into the summer. Bol has some work to do yet.
